An introduction to the Assistive Technology Room at DKIT
Background
The Assistive Technology Room is located on the first floor of the DKIT Library (Room W220). The room consists of Five Dell OptiPlex desktops each with Assistive Technology software installed and a HP LaserJet Pro Printer. The AT room also provides noise cancelling headphones for each workstation if required.
The AT room provides a quiet environment for study and project work as well as a drop in center for any Assistive Technology related questions or problems. The space can also be used for training and workshops on Assistive Technology related software and hardware.
The AT room is opened during the library opening hours and is accessible via a valid student ID card. The cards are activated when students register with the Disability Service.
